Opening ceremony

Here are a few local Indians...

I don't know about Scots, but Swiss Indians don't seem to wear underwear...

Crowd shots. Are you there?

Ceremony over, the weather is turning sour... Well, we had sunshine as long we needed it, and at this stage we were still hoping our luck would last. Little did we know what the future held for us!

Parade

Roughly 950 archers marched through the streets of Wildhaus to the sound of a brass band. Along our way, people cheered and encouraged us all, and seemed genuinely happy to see foreigners from so many different places. It was really pleasant, thank you, people of Wildhaus and fellow tourists!

Different countries and continents.

The Estonians are organising the EBHC next year. That fact was hard to miss!

Leading the way were bell-carriers.

Landscape

The scenery in Wildhaus was as picturesque as we could expect. So schön!

On the practice range

On Friday and Saturday the weather was fine, everybody was merrily ignoring the weather forecast!

Friday morning: practice range closed and deserted.

Saturday and Sunday: crowds of happy archers, still not believing in the possibility of rainfall. Blissful igorance!

Archers from tiny states... and from faraway countries.
